Tamaroa-St. Bruno, #204 set up all-Perry County championship game

(Tamaroa, Ill.) - It will be an all-Perry County matchup in the Class S Region 3 championship game after Pinckneyville #204 and regional host Tamaroa-St. Bruno both won their semifinal matchups to set up Tuesday night's showdown at 6:00 p.m.
T-SB had no trouble with Red Bud Lutheran, getting a game-high 21 points from Lily Tanner in their 59-23 rout. Grace Alongi added 12 points for the Lady Indians, Jillian Shaneyfelt had 11, Emily Ruppert and Chloe Eisenhauer each had 6, Jaleigh Moss 2, and Olivia Phillips 1.
The Lady Tigers led most of the way in their 43-35 victory over Marissa, but trailed 9-8 after the first period and led just 18-14 at the break. In the third quarter, #204 outscored their opponent 11-6 to give themselves a cushion heading into the final period, where they were able to put the game away despite making just 5-of-15 at the charity stripe.
Kassidy Lee had 6 of her team-best 16 points in the fourth quarter. Cheyenne Pauley added 8 points, Taylor Kurtz had 6, Ashlee Hirsch 5, Maddie Williams 3 and Lindsay Geffers finished with 2.
Tuesday night's winner advances to the Class S State Finals tournament at Rend Lake College beginning on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. against St. Mary's.
