#204 moves on to championship, T-SB knocked out in semifinals at Boys Regional

(Tamaroa, Ill.) - Pinckneyville District #204 will play for a Class S Boys Regional championship on Monday in Tamaroa after defeating St. Ann 61-31 in Thursday's semifinal round. The Tigers will take on Oakdale in the finals, after they knocked out the Regional host Tamaroa-St. Bruno in a nail-biter, 43-41, in the other semifinal.
Vaden Szczepanski lit up the scoreboard for 27 points to lead the Tigers. Dawson Wynn added 12 points, Trey Moll had 9, Issac Teel and Braydon Schubert each had 5, and Dylan Schuetz finished with 2.
In the late game on Thursday, T-SB got off to a slow start against Oakdale and trailed 13-6 at the end of the first quarter before narrowing the gap, only to fall by two as Oakdale won a free throw battle in the fourth.
Matthew Dunmeyer and Will Epplin led the Indians with 11 points apiece, Kaleb Hubler had 8, Phoenix Alvis 5, Nile Adcock 4 and Ethan Baggett 2.
Tamaroa-St. Bruno did win their opening round matchup two nights earlier, defeating TSJIL 36-29.
#204 65, Albers 52 (January 18)
On January 18, #204 defeated Albers on the road 65-52. Two Tigers topped 20 points on the night as Vaden Szczepanski poured in 21 and Trey Moll hit four three pointers and finished with 20. Dylan Schuetz also finished in double figures with 11 points, Dawson Wynn had 7, Issac Teel 4, and Landon Millikin 2.
The Tigers led 13-8 after one quarter of action, 29-18 at the half, and 47-32 heading into the fourth period.
