(Pinckneyville, Ill.) - The Lady Panthers out-hit the Lady Indians 15-3 and finished the game off 11-1 in six innings on Monday in Pinckneyville for the ninth consecutive victory for PCHS varsity softball. Pitcher Mariah Clark fanned 15 batters in the circle, and Taylor Witges had a homer and 5 RBIs to lead the Lady Panthers' offense.
Through three and a half innings, the game was a nail-biter at 0-0 and the two teams had combined for just a pair of hits. But when PCHS came to bat in the bottom of the fourth, it was like they'd flipped a switch.
Lauren Jackson and Megan Mayo both singled in front of a sacrifice fly by Daisy Dudek that made it 1-0 Pinckneyville. The next batter was Witges, who bombed a two-out, three run homer to center and gave PCHS a 4-0 advantage.

Hannah Dascotte singled in Jackson (double) for an RBI in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-0, then the Lady Panthers  pounded away with seven hits in the bottom of the sixth including home runs by Clark and Kylee Kling.
Chloe Hess (1-2), Olivia Whitley (1-2) and Maci Mckinnies (1-1, R, RBI, HR) had the only hits for Du Quoin, who lost their fourth straight conference game with the defeat. Mckinnies' homer came in the top of the sixth for the Lady Indians' lone run of the day. Chloe Hill took the loss as the pitcher of record.
For the Lady Panthers, Witges (2-5, R, 5 RBI), Dudek (2-4, RBI), Mayo (2-3, R, RBI, BB), Jackson (3-4, R), Kling (1-3, R, 2 RBI, BB), Clark (2-2, R, RBI, 2 BB), Dascotte (1-3, RBI, BB) and Josie Gleason (2-3, R, BB) each had hits against DHS.
