Lady Falcons defeat Agape, Steeleville before losing to Century, Goreville

(Elkville, Goreville & Steeleville, Ill.) - Playing three times in four days, Elverado-Zeigler-Royalton picked up wins over Agape Christian and Steeleville before falling to Century and Goreville during the week of December 16-20.
A 49-24 victory over Agape on December 16 at EHS started the week, a game where the Falcons raced out to a 15-2 lead in the opening quarter and led throughout. Lainey Morris (13 points) and Morgan Bernardini (11) both finished in double figures for E-Z-R, and Alexis Craig was a point shy with 9. Emma Funk finished with 6 points, Abby Jeschke 5, Miranda May 3 and Morgan Howell 2. Jeschke was the top rebounder for the night with 7.
One night later at Steeleville, the Lady Falcons held the Lady Warriors to just 13 points after the first quarter and went on to win it 51-23 behind 15 points from Jeschke and 11 from Morris. Skylar Hudson chipped in with 9 points, Bernardini 7, Funk 5, and Ella Pierce 4. Jeschke also led the way in rebounding with 9 boards.
A 21-10 third quarter helped Century snap E-Z-R’s winning streak, as the Falcons fell at home 62-46 on December 19. Jeschke led the scoring with 19 points, Funk had 15 and a team-high 8 rebounds. Bernardini added 6 points, Morris 4 and Pierce 2.
An abysmal 67-19 loss at Goreville followed on December 20, wrapping up 2019 for E-Z-R as they prepare for the Chester Mid-Winter Tournament in January 2020. Funk had a dozen points including three three-pointers. Bernardini (4 points), Morris (2) and Jeschke (1) also got into the scoring column for the Lady Falcons.
