Jeschke's 21 lead E-Z-R over Dongola

(Zeigler, Elkville & Dongola, Ill.) - Following a tight loss to Christopher on December 3, and a crushing defeat at the hands of Trico on December 9, Elverado-Zeigler-Royalton picked up their second win of the year on December 12 in a road game at Dongola, 55-33.
Abby Jeschke’s 21 points led the way for the Falcons, 8 of those coming during a 19-12 opening quarter. By halftime, E-Z-R had the lead in double figures at 34-20, then put the game out of reach with a 14-6 third quarter. Jeschke also led rebounds on the night with 8.
It was the third time on the season that Jeschke scored at least 20 points. Lainey Morris added 13 points, Emma Funk had 9, Kelsey Knapp and Morgan Bernardini each had 4, and Ella Pierce and Morgan Howell finished with 2 apiece. Morris had a team-high 5 assists.
The Lady Falcons trailed by just a bucket at halftime against Christopher in the team’s first game at Zeigler-Royalton High School, but struggled to net just four points in the third quarter and couldn’t overcome it in the fourth.
Jeschke had 20 points against the Lady Bearcats, also grabbing 13 rebounds. Morris finished with 7 points, Bernardini 6, Funk 4 and Knapp 2.
In the 60-23 loss to Trico, Jeschke had 10 points, Morris 6, Funk 3, and Knapp and Skylar Hudson each had 2.
