Lady Falcons get their first win at Galatia Tournament

  (Galatia, Ill.) - The Lady Falcons wrapped up the Galatia Turkey Tournament with their first victory of the season, a 67-56 victory over Cobden to finish the week 1-2 with a 1-4 record overall on the year.

  A 25-point first quarter for Elverado-Zeigler-Royalton put the Falcons up by 10 heading to the second, and things never got better for the Appleknockers. Abby Jeschke had 7 of her team-high 21 points in that opening quarter of play. Jeschke also led E-Z-R in rebounds for the game with 19.

  Emma Funk joined Jeschke in double figures with 19 points. Lainey Morris added 9 points, Morgan Bernardini 7, Ella Pierce and Kelsey Knapp with 4 apiece, and Skylar Hudson had 3.

  In other action at the tournament, E-Z-R fell 54-41 to the tournament host on November 26, and 59-49 to Century on November 29.

  Against Galatia, Morris led the way with 15 points, followed by Funk (14), Jeschke (6), Bernardini (5) and Pierce (1).

  In the game with Century, Bernardini put in 20 points to lead the way. Morris (11) and Funk (10) were also in double figures. Jeschke added 4 points, Knapp and Pierce each had 2.
