Lady Falcons win QCAC Volleyball Conference Tournament

  (Carbondale, Ill.) - The Lady Falcons brought home the championship trophy from the 2018 QCAC conference tournament on Saturday at Giant City, winning matches against OLMC, Pinckneyville District #204, and Adams to claim the title.
  OLMC was no match for Elverado in their tournament opener, as the Falcons won 25-9, 25-4, getting a team-high 3 kills from Faith Godoyo, and 2 apiece from Emma Yates and Gracie Dowdy. Dowdy and Morgan Bernardini each finished with 6 service aces, and Yates led assists with 3.
  In the semifinals against #204, the Lady Falcons won the first set 25-19, dropped the second 25-20, then bounced back for a hard-fought 16-14 win in the third to keep their championship hopes alive. Dowdy led the offense with 7 kills, , Reese Funk added 5. Bernardini had 6 assists. Yates led aces with 4.
  The final round was another tight three-setter, with Elverado prevailing 26-24, 14-25, 15-13 over Adams. Dowdy led kills with 3 and assists with 5 while Bernardini and Funk each had a pair of assists.
  Sydney Schenk, Chloe Dent, Karlie Haynes, Micah Davis and Ellie Pierce also saw action for the Lady Falcons.
