(Elkville, Ill.) - A strong performance on the court by the Elverado volleyball team was complemented with a strong showing by the community on Pink-Out Night at EHS for breast cancer awareness, and the Falcons sent their fans home happy with a 25-14, 25-9 victory over Agape Christian.

“It was a very successful night all around,” said EHS head volleyball coach Donette Wheatley. “We won two matches, raised lots of money, had a huge crowd, and everyone got to play. The parents did an exceptional job of pulling this off, as did the players. I’m very proud of our Falcon community, it was a great night!”

Emma Funk’s 11 kills led the Elverado offense, Kaity Lewis added 8 kills. E. Funk led the defense as well with 4 blocks, and also led digs with 4, followed by Emma Yates with 3. Yates led assists with a dozen, Zoe Maple had 4.

The junior varsity match was also won by EHS, 25-11, 25-11. Reese Funk had a team-high 4 kills, Emma Wisely led digs with 2, and Sydney Schenk led assists with 6 and aces with 3.
