(Joppa, Ill.) - Elverado picked up their second conference win of the season on Tuesday night, trouncing Joppa on the road 25-11, 25-8. The Lady Falcons improved to 7-6 overall at the varsity level this fall.

Emma Funk led EHS in kills with 7, followed by Hayli Havens with 6. Funk also led digs with 3 and blocks with 3, and Emma Yates had a team-high 8 assists. Morgan Bernardini had 6 services aces and the Falcons scored 20 points on her serve.

“Morgan had a great game behind the service line tonight,” said Elverado head coach Donette Wheatley. “We weren’t as sharp tonight as we usually are. I noticed tonight how the girls were communicating on the floor telling each other where to place the ball. We have got to be on our best game Thursday night (against Cobden).”

EHS was also in total control of the J-V game, winning 25-10, 25-15. Chloe Barnes and Macy Whitaker each had 3 kills, Ellie Pierce had 5 assists, and Sydney Schenk had 7 aces.
