(Vergennes, Ill.) - The Lady Falcons dominated their volleyball conference opener against Dongola on September 6, sweeping both sets 25-4, 25-9 at home.
"We played very well tonight, our serves were dead-on," said EHS head coach Donette Wheatley. "They struggled receiving them. We even got several of the younger kids some playing time. This was a great start to conference play, we have been waiting to see how playing those big schools was going to prepare us for this. Has it helped? In a huge way!"
Emma Funk led Elverado in kills with 5, Morgan Cashion led digs with 2, Emma Yates led assists with 6, and Jessica Elson had a team-best 5 service aces.
In the junior varsity contest, EHS finished off Dongola in two sets, 25-13, 25-12, getting 4 kills from Hayli Havens, 5 assists from Leia Bryant, and 4 aces from Abby Jeschke.
The varsity Falcons improved to 5-7 overall, while the J-V team improved to 4-3.
