(Elkville, Ill.) - Elverado totaled 19 kills as a team and dominated from start to finish on September 5 against visiting Meridian, taking the varsity match 25-4, 25-11.

“This was a good match to get some other players in that don’t normally play,” said Lady Falcons head coach Donette Wheatley. “Chloe Barnes has been out with mono, so we got her in to see if she was ready to go. I loved the enthusiasm on the bench!”

Kaity Lewis had the most kills with 5, followed by Emma Funk and Hayli Havens, who each finished with 4. Funk led digs with 2 and aces with 6, and Emma Yates led assists with 6.

The junior varsity match was also all Elverado, as the Falcons won 25-7, 25-10 behind 4 kills from Faith Godoyo. Ella Pierce had 8 assists and Sydney Schenk served up 6 aces.

The J-V Lady Falcons improved to 4-1 on the year while the varsity team sat at 3-2 entering the Du Quoin Tournament.
