(Vergennes, Ill.) - Meridian was completely overmatched against the Lady Falcons on April 23, as Elverado jumped all over the Bobcats with 15 first-inning runs on their way to a four-inning shutout, 15-0, behind Allie Whittington’s perfect game in the pitching circle.

“We got our 15 runs in the first inning, Allie mowed them down, and we got out on the base paths so we could get the game in,” said EHS head coach Donette Wheatley. “We started a little bit early to beat the rain and we just did that. Allie put another perfect game in the books.”

  Whittington (1-1, 2 R, 2 BB), Morgan Bernardini (1-2, 2 R, RBI, HBP), Chloe Barnes (2-2, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2B, 3B, HBP), Emma Yates (2-2, 2 R, 2 RBI, HBP), Kaity Lewis (1-2, 2 R, 2 RBI), Reese Funk (1-2, R, RBI) and Sydney Schenk (1-1, R, HBP) had hits for the Lady Falcons.

Whittington faced a minimum of twelve batters, and struck out every single one of them.
