(Ullin & Elkville, Ill.) - Elverado picked up their third win in a row on Monday night, hanging on for a 60-57 win at Century behind 29 points from senior Allie Whittington.

That effort gave Whittington a massive total of 68 points in her last two games after a career-high 39 against Joppa on December 6, a game the Lady Falcons won 49-14 at home in Elkville.

EHS trailed 17-14 at Century after one quarter, then Whittington and Chloe Barnes combined for 17 of the Falcons’ 18 second quarter points, giving Elverado a 32-29 edge heading to the break. They then extended their lead to 46-39 after the third quarter, where once again Whittington and Barnes came up big with 12 of the team’s 14 points. Whittington, who was 15-of-18 at the line on the night, made 6-of-8 free throws in the final period to help EHS hang on.

Barnes (13 points) and Brianna Tuthill (10) were also in double figures for the Lady Falcons. Emma Funk added 5 points, and Abby Jeschke had 3.

Barnes (5 points), Funk (3) and Tuthill (2) also scored in the win over Joppa.

With the pair of victories, Elverado is now 3-4 overall, 2-0 in SEC play.
