(Elkville, Ill.) - The Lady Falcons started their season opener with Goreville strong, but with only seven players on their roster, Elverado eventually wore down and fell by the lopsided final score of 67-38.

Allie Whittington scored 8 points on a pair of three-pointers and two free throws in the opening period to put EHS ahead 15-11 heading to the second quarter, but the Blackcats roared back from there, taking a 26-23 lead into the break before pulling away for a 41-15 second half.

Whittington finished the night with a team-high 20 points, Emma Funk added 9 points, Chloe Barnes had 5, and Morgan Cashion and Abby Jeschke each finished with 2.

The Lady Falcons return to the floor on November 19 at Woodlawn.
