(Dongola & Elkville, Ill.) - The Lady Falcons are rolling into Tuesday night's Regional tournament fresh off of wins in their final two regular season games - a 57-30 victory at Dongola on January 29, and a 37-11 Senior Night win over Shawnee on January 31.
Three Elverado players finished in double figures in the win at Dongola, including Allie Whittington, who led the way with 19 points. A 14-5 second quarter helped the Lady Falcons separate themselves on the scoreboard and take a 24-13 lead into the break before they put it away with a 25-10 third period.
Emma Funk (15 points), Hannah Alstat (11), Lily Black-Morrelli (4), Tori Ehlers (2), Brianna Tuthill (2), Abby Jeschke (2) and Chloe Barnes (2) also scored for EHS at Dongola.
Back at home two nights later, the Lady Falcons had no problems putting away Shawnee while recognizing seniors Alstat, Ehlers and Savannah Valerius.
Whittington scored 11 points to lead Elverado, followed by Alstat with 8, Ehlers with 6, Valerius 3, Jeschke 3, and Funk, Tuthill and Barnes each with 2.
Elverado begins Regional action on Wednesday at Cobden with a 7:30 semifinal matchup against Marissa, after weather postponed the game from it's originally scheduled date on Tuesday.
