(Dowell, Ill.) - Elverado baseball took a tough loss at home on April 16, falling to Cobden 9-0 after scattering just five hits and stranding six total base runners.

The Falcons’ best opportunity to score runs came in the bottom of the seventh inning when they loaded the bases with one out after singles by Trey Bernardini and Samuel Alstat and a walk to Reed Funk, but Appleknockers hurler Dustin Sutliff was able to strike out the final two batters to end the threat, and the ball game.

Bernardini (1-2), Alstat (2-3), Tanner Shread (1-3) and Jessie Shread (1-3) had hits for EHS. The Falcons used four pitchers - Blaine Morse, Funk, Zach Absher, and J. Shread.
