(Du Quoin, Ill.) - Du Quoin got a complete-game one-hit shutout on the mound from Alex Zimmerman and needed every bit of that effort to come away with a 1-0 win at Anna-Jonesboro on Monday, picking up the game-winning run on Hank Stewart's RBI double in the sixth inning to bring in Tevin Lee.
Stewart (1-3, RBI, 2B), Lee (1-3, R) and Ashton Smith (1-3) each had hits for the Indians in the road win.
A day later, Du Quoin's lack of offensive production did cost them, as Nashville traveled to the Ballpark at DHS and left with a 9-0 victory. The loss dropped the Indians to 7-4 overall, 2-2 in the SIRR Conference Mississippi Division.
Smith was 3-for-3 at the plate in the loss with a double, Zimmerman was 2-for-3. Owen Bradley took the loss on the mound for Du Quoin.
